How's life, Rich?
Life is fucking incredible. As I type this, I'm watching my girlfriend tend to our little tomato garden. Caprese for dayssssss, bitches.

God, I hope so, Unless she's been replaced by an alien substitute. Note to self, be mindful of the uncanny valley. 

You mentioned in a recent interview that you turned down a writing job for SNL when you were younger. Has this ever caused you to have any regrets?
I think I might end up making myself even more unpopular with this answer, if that's even possible, but no. I don't regret it. I love where I'm at now, and I know I'm here because of the path I took to get here. Somewhere along this path, I was forced to deal with what a fuckin' asshole I was. I'm at the point where I worry that if I did a single thing differently, I might not have come to this conclusion so easily. I'm happy with where I'm at. Like I said, caprese for dayssssssss, bitches. 

What's in the pipeline for you right now?
The new season of Children's Hospital just started airing, the theme song to Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt is still stuck in people's heads, there's Wet Hot American Summer, and for some reason people still like to watch me smoke with my best friends on my show. But aside from that, there's a little movie I wrote [Digging for Fire] that I'm excited about. This is the first time in a long time that I've had this much going on at once. It's exciting for me. It's like juggling a bunch of flaming sharks. I just love getting to share shit I'm excited about and see how people react.

What's next for Rich Murray? 
Immediately? I'm probably gonna take a shit. After that? I'll write. I'm always writing. Hopefully it makes someone other than me laugh.
